Now in stock and NO sourcing fees charged!Although Racehorses was first published to cover the 1948 season, fans of National Hunt racing had to wait a little longer for a definitive record of the jumping year.
The first Chasers & Hurdlers covered the 1975/76 season, so the new Chasers & Hurdlers 2005/06 marks the 31st annual in the series. It offers the same high standards as its elder companion, Racehorses, is lavishly illustrated and its publication each autumn is just as eagerly awaited.
Chasers & Hurdlers is the end result of careful, independent scrutiny of the racing records of every one of the horses that ran over the sticks, plus a good number of the better Irish and French performers. There are 9,750 entries in all and 400 photographs! Timeform's conclusions, it should be stressed, are arrived at impartially. We are not influenced by trainers' or jockeys' opinions, for example, though they may occasionally be recorded for the additional interest of readers. The information is always presented in the Timeform Annuals so as to be of practical use to those who bet.
Every horse is put under the Timeform microscope to produce a book that, as well as being invaluable to the punter, also has some permanent value as a review of the achievements of the season's more notable horses. Hence the addition of action photos of all the big races and posed portraits of the top performers.
